Resiliency is the result of adaptation following adverse events. It is not the absence of adversity but rather our ability to respond and grow from negative events. So we are not confined or defined by our beginning or what happens to us in life, it's all in our response. Acquiring the tools necessary to respond to stressful situations, strengthening the core of who we are and what we hope to become creates our own resiliency; our tenacity for living. We have the capacity to heal from the past.
